Background
One of the realities I’ve faced as a Black Woman is having to work twice as hard to get half as much as my peers of no color, and honestly with that has come a lot of doubt and questioning. Whether it be from society, work, or yourself, it can be hard to feel whole when you feel like you’re always lacking. The pandemic made it hard for me to believe in myself so I relied heavy on close friends as my support system. They constantly remind me that I’m THAT girl and so are my designs. As a passion project, I took the affirmations I always looked at from my friends and designed a deck focused on imposter syndrome to uplift me in moments of doubts.
